Marine Hydraulic Technicians
Sterling Marine Systems is looking for qualified technicians for immediate employment.
This is a full time, long term position with an established south Florida company (19 years).
We are looking for experienced enthusiastic, self-starting individuals who are skilled in installation, troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems and components.
A good outlook, attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential.
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years verifiable experience in the fluid power industry and should be familiar with standard industry practices.
Job Description:
- Troubleshoot, service and repair all types of marine hydraulic equipment including, but not limited to steering systems, bow thrusters, davit and deck equipment.
- Service and repair of hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves and cylinders.
- Fabricate high pressure hydraulic hose and tubing assemblies.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems for marine equipment is very beneficial.
- Complimentary skills such as machining, welding, electrical work etc are also a plus.
Applicants will have the following skills and knowledge:
- Be familiar with all types of pumps, valves and components in marine fluid power systems.
- Be able to work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Be able to carry a project through from assignment to completion including specification and ordering of required components.
- Be able to complete necessary company forms, including Time Sheets and Purchase Orders as required in normal day to day business.
- Interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors and co-workers.
- Basic computer skills are required. (e-mail, light word processing, internet searches etc)
Other:
- Sterling Marine Systems will supply a company vehicle and cell phone for use in carrying out company business. Some travel may be required in the US and overseas. A valid Passport/Resident Alien Card as appropriate is required.
- Employees are expected to provide normal hand and power tools as required to carry out the scope of work described above. Sterling Marine Systems will provide any specialty / larger tools required for completion of projects as required.
